mmmm tasty
O dear I've been a little bit naughty as I got bored and decided to check the build quality of my daddies puffa jacket which he forgot to put away.....fyi the quality was of a fluffy nature and easily distributed all around the kitchen in bite sized chunks. Oh and for added measure i also wanted to test my brothers bed pillow.....tasted quite nice at the time. Daddy came home and took one look at my work and told me that he still loves me but thinks he needs to buy me some other things to chew.
My daddy too me and my best pal monty out for a really long walk after and it was really cool as im now beating monty to the frisbie more often but i havent quite got the hang of bringing it back all the way to daddy yet. I also see these large noisy things on the tarmac river which still scare me but my dad and monty always reassure me so i keep on walking with them. I've met a lot of new friends too on our walks some are really big and the size of....well my daddy but others look just like me and my Brother so they may be family!? Anyway we all checked each other out and played with each other which i really liked so I'm happy about my new home. Can't wait to be allowed off the lead like my bro but daddy thinks we still have a while before i can be trusted but im working on it!
That's all for me now, im now off to chew my parents table leg

A new dawn, a new day and a new life for Mitch.
Hi all its Don this time saying hello and just a quick update on Mitch. I woke up at about 6 this morning with the sun on my face with out being disturbed through the night as I thought Monty would be barking at Mitch to play but it didnt happen. I walked down the stairs and saw Mitch there on the rugg wagging his tail and monty in his bed which he seems to have claimed from Mitch as he now wants both beds the little shylock. Anyway one down stairs Mitch came up and said hello with his tail swinging away at half mast and gave me kiss on the nose bless him.
The next thing i did was a damage check to see if he'd had any accidents or chew sprees.....well no chews and a small puddle next to the kitchen unit isnt bad for the little mans first night with us so hes been as good as gold. I let them both out in the garden and they both proceeded to decorate my soil by.....well... soiling but better out than inside i say! After playing with them in the front room for about 30 mins it was time for them both to go upstairs and say hello to lazy snoozy mum so the baby gate was opened and as per usual Monty darts up and jumps on the missus but Mitch needed a little coaching and so i led the way with him following me up the stairs. He had a good sniff around and had a good eyeball on the socks on the floor......probably remembering them for a later chew maybe? Once he was comfortable enough he hopped onto the bed and lay down next his mum......picture to follow:
Mitch and Monty are still laying down the ground rules to each other by the looks of things as when he's laid next to us and Monty sticks his beak in for a quick sniff or a bit of attention theres a small bit of upper lip action on Mitchs part just to warn off Monty and give him his space but other than that i've been playing some fetch and both are competing against each other to get it before the other so it should be fun to see who comes out on top but so far its even stevens.
I just want to say a big thanks to all of you who are supporting Alexa while im on as I felt sad as we left with Mitch and almost felt like i was stealing one of her family but to be honest I'd probably have been blubbing a lot more and probably not let him go. Hats of to you Alexa I cant begin to tell you how happy me and Tam are now that we have a new family member and can only thank you to you, paul and rest of wiccaways gang who rebuild dogs lives out of the goodness of your own hearts. I think the best reward I can give you is peace of mind that we already love Mitch to bits and we know that he's got a great life ahead of him.

The day we met
Monty had only had 'the chop' the day before so we were a little nervous about letting him off the lead in case there was any rough play. We walked into the barn and instantly recognised Mitch! He was smaller than I expected but pretty much came straight up to us which i was shocked about, I thought that he would be more nervous around us as we were new people, but he just wants to trust so much.
We took him for a walk with Monty and also spent a lot of alone time just us, Monty and Mitch in a paddock playing fetch. We had to tie Mitch to a post with a 60ft lead in case he ran away. But he loves to play, just hasn't quite got the hang of bringing it all the way back. On his walk he pulls on the lead but Paul told us not to pull him back, just go with him, which was fine. He and Monty had a few explorations and sniffs of each other and a couple of small warnings, but no scuffles, they seemed to get on fine. Nothing too intimate at first but we knew that would come in time.
We fell in love with him Mitch all over again and when they told us to go have a think and to rather have to come back for him another day than to regret taking him and having to return him when he didn't turn out to fit in. But we didn't know any more now than we knew before, we knew his story and we knew that we would love him for the little soul he was. We'd give him his space and we wouldn't stop loving him because he chewed our belongings. As someone else said on the day, we knew it was meant to be. Just the similarities between him and Monty, it was as if they were brothers... We were taking him with us to his new forever home.
And at home asleep on dad settling in already!
What's the Story
Don and I adopted Mitch from Wiccaweys today. He has had a bad past of mistreatment and was rescued from Ireland by Wiccaweys in July 2007. We are now his new forever home mum and dad and Monty is his new brother. We fell in love with Mitch as soon as we saw him on the website and he is going to be loved to bits in his new forever home. A special thanks to his foster mum Alexa for all she's done over the past 8 months with him, it's amazing. I know the day we adopted him must have been hard for her but she's welcome to visit anytime.
Here's some Mitch videos...
This was Mitch the day he arrived at Wiccaweys
This was a few days later
Another little Mitch video
With his foster Mum
He's come such a long way since those first videos!
....So I thought I'd keep this blog to record Mitch and Monty's future story together as doggie pals and brothers.
